Kelowna
Imagine the ability to live, work and play where the pristine blue waters of a beautiful lake are always close at hand. Where you can take in the clear morning air on the first tee of your favorite golf course, dine al fresco on the terrace at a quaint local winery, or whoosh your way through champagne powder on a world-class ski hill.
Welcome to the Okanagan, where the lifestyle is inspired by the best that Nature has to offer. This stunning valley basks in more than 2,000 hours of sunshine a year. At your doorstep are a myriad of beaches, parks and walking trails, premium golf courses, three major ski hills and internationally acclaimed wineries. Sporting events, festivals and concerts take place throughout the year, celebrating the unique beauty of each season.
Kelowna is the hub of the Okanagan with a diverse economy and all the amenities of one of Canada’s fastest growing cities: a thriving arts and culture sector, cosmopolitan restaurants and virtually every type of shopping from quaint boutiques to major retailers. Thoughtful urban planning and respect for the region’s rich agricultural heritage is reflected in plenty of green space and residents who value environmentally-sensitive living.
Within Kelowna are several distinct communities with a wide range of home styles and price ranges. Closest to the city centre are the North End and South End, with Glenmore and McKinley stretching out north toward Lake Country, and Rutland and the Belgo/Black Mountain areas to the east. Also within the city boundaries are the Upper and Lower Mission areas which flank Lake Okanagan to the south, and Southeast Kelowna.
Traveling to and from the Okanagan is easy however you go. From Kelowna International Airport there are connections to major North American cities including non-stop flights to Toronto. By car, Kelowna is situated on the famous north/south route Highway 97, just two hours from the US border. It’s about four hours west to Vancouver on the Pacific Coast over the Coquihalla Highway, and a day’s drive east on the Trans Canada to Calgary.
